OF FAME INDUCTEES ANNOUNCED

The names of 18 inductees into the National Rowing Hall of Fame were unveiled at the National Team Alumni Reception on Saturday, October 17 at the Head of the Charles Regatta.
The inductees are:
The 2004 Athens Olympic Gold Medal Eight: Bow Jason Read; 2-Wyatt Allen; 3 –
Seven individual athletes were honored: 2-time Olympic
medalists Karen Kraft Rigsby and Missy
Schwen Ryan. 3-time Olympic
sculler (twice a silver medalist)
In addition Mike Teti received a further accolade when he was recognized for his prowess as USRowing’s head men’s coach.
Anita DeFrantz is inducted as a Patron in recognition of extraordinary service to sport – particularly rowing. She was an Olympic bronze medalist in the 1976 Olympic women’s eight. Her extensive lists of Olympic sport mandates underscore her skills in governance and her commitment to our sport. Included are: Current member of the IOC, past IOC executive board officer and Vice President and Development Commission Chair of FISA.
Induction ceremonies will be March 20-21, 2010 at the National Rowing Hall of Fame at Mystic (CT) Seaport. Special efforts are in motion to include members of the Hall of Fame the rowing community in the celebrations.
